This years National Bandanna Day is Thursday the 24th October 2024

Enablis' team is proud to work with Canteen Australia and to also support Bandanna Day on Thursday the 24th October. In 2024 Canteen are running some great initiatives to support young Australians affected by Cancer to raise vital funds.

As the flagship fundraising and awareness campaign for Canteen, National Bandanna Day is held in October each year to raise funds and create awareness about the important work Canteen provides to support people impacted by cancer. You can click here to provide much needed support.

Since Bandanna Day began 30 years ago it has raised over $35 million to support young people impacted by cancer.  Joining the Bandanna Day team is as easy as 1,2,3! Choose to cut, colour or cover your hair, raise funds to support young Australians impacted by cancer and celebrate the difference you've made! Sign up today to access great fundraising rewards!

Canteen raises funds on Bandanna Day from donations made by community support selling Bandannas, Face masks, Tote Bags, Caps and Pens and you can also register to Cut, Colour or Cover your hair to help young people impacted by cancer to gain access to the following services:

  • Counselling and individual support: Canteen counsellors are specially trained to understand the challenges cancer brings. Young people can share thoughts or feelings that other people in their lives might not be able to relate to.
  • Youth Cancer Services: Youth Cancer Services provide world-leading, specialist, age-appropriate treatment and support for young cancer patients aged 15-25. Around 70% of all newly diagnosed young cancer patients are supported by Canteen's Youth Cancer Services.
  • Peer support and programs: Life can feel pretty lonely when you’re trying to deal with cancer. Through Canteen, young people can meet other young people living with cancer who totally get what they’re going through.
  • Canteen Connect: An online community for young people (aged 12-25) who are dealing with their own diagnosis, a close family member’s cancer or the death of a loved one. Through Canteen Connect, young people and parents can connect with others in a similar situation, share their experiences and chat to a Canteen counsellor.
  • Leadership: Each year young people at Canteen are offered a range of opportunities to develop their leadership potential. Ultimately, we are investing in young people’s power and positive influence in their lives, communities and world.
  • Robots Project: Designed to help cancer patients stay connected to their school and friend networks- our robots use video conferencing technology to allow young people to remotely attend classes and engage with friends. Our robot enables a young cancer patient to keep up with their daily lives, achieve a sense of normality, and lower their feelings of isolation.
